We are a fully functioning, organic, FSC certified eucalyptus timber farm as well as a guesthouse and we are one of the few carbon-negative accommodation establishments in South Africa.
The setting is very rural, tranquil and scenic with the main property overlooking the majestic Drakensberg mountains. We have horses, ponies, goats, ducks, dogs, chickens and a couple of free-range kids.
We are currently looking for self-motivated volunteers who will enjoy the rural setting, for a minimum of 3 weeks. We need volunteers to help with the preparing of meals for the restaurant, gardening and general help in the guest house. We have a lot of British, Dutch and German guests as well as local tourists.
In the future we want to work on a number of eco-projects including a wood-gasifier and bio gas project as well as an eco-pond.
The two types of volunteer accommodation are a dorm and two en-suite rondavels for singles or couples.
On the farm we have a dam for fishing and wild swimming and lots of walks and mountain biking trails through natural streams and forests. There are also plenty of hiking trails close by in Champagne Valley and the Drakensberg Mountains.
